Bobbyhundreds on fashion and cultural trends of skateboarding in the 90s.

the-hundreds-la-00

In case there are any out there who haven’t seen this insightful and reminiscent article about skateboarding by Bobbyhundreds at http://www.thehundreds.com/, then I recommend those here who remember getting into skateboarding during the 90s give the article a serious read. Come on now, I’m sure a good plenty here remember small wheels….really small. Huge baggy jeans, which were already crafted to be baggy but were even baggier once you tried on a pair several sizes larger than your waste size, looked in the mirror and said “dope, I’m about to be the most fly guy in my crew.”

Remember the days before Skateboarding was all over the Net? Sure you do. The days when a new issue of CCS or a few other favored catalogs informed us of the new sick trend progressions of the time. Regarding shoes…I never got myself a pair of the Duff KCKs white with gum rubber soul, but oh how I coveted the few friends who had a pair. That’s okay. I was the first in our crew to have Jeremy WrayDukes. Hah! Take that. Whether some see it or not, urban fashion and skateboarding have gone hand in hand since day one.
